Irene's Snickerdoodle Cookies

Ingredients:

  • shortening (vegetable) - 1 cup
  • sugar - 1 cup
  • eggs - 2 unit
  • flour - 3 cup
  • cream of tartar - 2 teaspoon
  • baking soda - 1 teaspoon
  • salt - 1/4 teaspoon
  • cinnamon - 1 dash

Directions:

preheat oven to 375F.

Mix together the vegetable shortening, sugar and eggs in a small mixing bowl.

Sift together flour and mix well with the cream of tartar, soda and salt.

Mix together both mixtures and roll into balls about one inch in diameter and roll in cinnamon and sugar.

Put on a lightly greased baking sheet, leaving about 1 1/2 inches between the cookies.

Bake from 10 to 12 minutes until done.
